There was no doubt in my mind that last year’s vintage, 2021, was one of the best in the last 20 years. But the Regulatory Council of our Designation of Origin, supported by the Exceptional Committee in charge of qualifying the 2021 vintage, has corroborated it.
This Exceptional Committee, formed by ten personalities of the wine sector and winemakers with great experience, tasted last May 9 twelve previously selected wines made with grapes from the 2021 vintage. Their mission was to analyze these wines at the present time and determine what their quality will be when they reach the consumers’ tables. Not an easy task, and one that requires a great deal of experience when it comes to judging this type of unfinished wine.
There is no doubt that the EXCELLENT rating is good news for this sector of ours, which has been so hard hit in recent years. That it can help the commercialization of these wines is our hope. However, we will have to wait a few years to have our Ferratus 2021 ready to delight us with them and that requires patience, something that those who know me say, I do not have to spare.
Cheers to all!
