THE LARGEST GOURMET COMMUNITY IN GERMAN
Falstaff is the most prestigious and renowned German-language magazine (Austria, Germany and Switzerland) on wine, gastronomy, wine tourism, culinary travel and lifestyle (cigars, cars…). It was founded in 1980 by two business journalists Hans Dibold and Helmut Romé (1939-2021).
Its name is a tribute to the literary character Sir John Falstaff, an overweight, lazy and dissolute knight from the plays “Henry IV and The Merry Wives of Windsor” by William Shakespeare (1564-1616) and also from Verdi’s opera Falstaff. A singular character staunchly committed to unrestrained indulgence in food and drink.
In addition to the magazine, the Falstaff-Verlag group publishes an annual Wine Guide describing more than 4,000 wines worldwide. And here, our wine Ferratus Origen 2017 has achieved 91 points, a very outstanding rating of which we are frankly proud.
