I have finally fulfilled one of those dreams that you think will never come true: we now have FERRATUS White.
I started looking through my press clippings and found an article written by the great Maite Corsín in the November 2007 issue of the now defunct magazine Sibaritas: My goodness, it’s been almost 15 years! In this publication, written not only with great professionalism but also with great affection, Maite picked up an expression of mine that I passed on to her during the interview she gave me: “My dream is to make a red wine with the soul of a white wine, full of sensations and subtlety, which has something to do with elegance, but it is not the same thing”. And for years I have searched for it and achieved it in my reds, but with the hope that, someday, I would have a glass of that subtle and elegant white FERRATUS I dreamed of in my hands. Well, it is already here!
The recent authorization by the D.O. Ribera del Duero to produce whites with the native variety Albillo Mayor, the good work of our winemaker Emmanuel Ivars with the support and work of the entire Ferratus team, have converged in a “perfect storm” whose result is this FERRATUS White that today, with all my illusion, a pinch of innocence and being aware of the great responsibility it implies, I put in your hands, To your health!
